FAQ's
If you have questions, we have answers...Do I own my domain?
Yes, even if we buy the domain for you, it will be registered to you. If you already own a domain, you can move it to us for free (your existing registrar may charge a transfer fee). If you want to move your domain from us to another registrar, there is an admin fee starting at £22, depending on the domain type.
Do I own my website?
Our customers own all the written content of the site. They also own any images that they provide to be used on their site. Some themes, images and graphics used on the site that are owned and licenced by us, remain the property of the creator or publisher, licensed to us. We do not make any intellectual property claims for our websites other than protecting licensed technologies, images and graphics.
Am I tied into a contract?
Bespoke websites mean bespoke contracts and every client is different. On the whole, we do not tie customers to lengthy contracts. Domain names and hosting are generally renewable annually. Support plans typically run for a minimum of 6 or 12 months. If you cancel hosting services, you may want to make alternative arrangements for your website and email. Hosting is payable annually in advance, we do not offer pro-rata refunds for unused hosting time. Some 3rd party plugins or themes used on your website may need renewing annually but you will always be made aware if this is the case.
What if I want more customisation or out-grow my website?
All our websites are highly flexible and extendable – just talk to us and we’ll let you know how to make it happen!
Can I transfer my website to different hosting?
Yes, with some caveats…. If a customer wants to move their website to another hosting provider, we will need 60 days notice and a migration fee may need to be paid. The owner will need our approval that all assets licensed to us and not the client have been removed before transfer.
We do not migrate email out – your new provider must do that before your hosting agreement ends. All the written content on a site belongs to the customer, so a customer can use it freely to develop another site if preferred.
If implemented through our plans, licenses for any add-on technologies operating under our licenses such as testimonial collection and display, appointment bookings and social media feeds may also need to be purchased from the original developer by the customer for them to work when moving to another hosting provider.
I'm not in the UK, can I still get a website and email from you?
Yes you can! We can supply international localised domains and can host your website on a server nearer to you if preferred. All our websites are created in English but we can add a translation service for a small additional cost. Truly multi-lingual sites can also be created using but are significantly more expensive.
